This is definately for a costume and not for a child to "battle" as in the Star Wars movies as my child wanted to do. Its not as sturdy as other light sabers out there. But it worked for Santa to bring on Christmas.

I bought this for my son for Halloween but when I extended one of the sides to make the light sabre, it came right out in my hands and we could not get it back together. He has three other light sabres which have lasted several years (some passed on from other kids) but this one lasted two minutes.

This is very cool LOOKING but it is very cheaply made. I expected more since it was an official Star Wars product. I put this thing back together at least 15 times a day. Of course my 5 year old likes it because it's a double bladed lightsaber and it's cool looking. I would not buy this again. The only reason it has not gone in the trash yet is because it was not cheap.
