My son is very excited about wearing the costume this Halloween. I'm not sure how it will wash. The "bones" are made of a soft "plastic like" material that is somewhat flexible. It fit him pretty well. I ordered up because he's kind of on the tall side. It's a little long, but not bad. Corresponds fairly well with pants sizes for children.
