My son LOVES to dress up...as in, when he's excited about a costume, he wants to wear it EVERYWHERE! That means getting something durable that has the possibility of being machine washed and holding up against a very active 5-year-old. So far, this costume has seen a few jedi battles at friend's houses, held up to 2 birthday parties, and quite a few days running around the house, as well as 2 cycles through the wash (hand wash cycle, air dry). So far it seems to be holding up alright, though the white foam part is starting to tear just a little along the edges (where it's stitched to the costume). The only thing that doesn't fit well is the scary looking mask and the belt that keeps slipping down (my son's not that skinny, but it just keeps stretching and falling down when he runs). Not as durable as the Aeromax firefighter costume that he was in love with (and still wears the jacket regularly), but definitely reasonable for an out of this world star wars costume!
