Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus is credited as being the discoverer of the Americas, the first settler to arrive in North America. He spent most of his life sailing the ocean, exploring the world, and mapping it. Columbus was so influential that even now, there is a day named after him Columbus Day. This day, which is celebrated on the second Monday in October in the United States, and on October 21^st in many Latin countries is meant to commemorate Columbus October landing in the Americas.
