History for Kids: The Roman Empire and Roman life

The history of Rome was similar to the earlier history of Western Asia. Immigrants first traveled to Rome from Western Asia in 10000 BC and the second group of immigrants arrived there in about 5000 BC. The main intention of migrating to Rome was farming. They brought a lot of animals to Rome for farming purposes. Subsequently, the people learned how to lead a modern life there by utilizing tools made of bronze. The Indo-Europeans arrived in Rome around 2000 BC and they carried a new language called Latin.

Augustus was the first emperor of Rome and he added huge number of Roman territories. Ruling Rome from 27BC to 14AD, he was the adopted son of Julius Caesar. During the Imperial Period, Emperor Trajan was the ruler of Rome. At that time, Rome controlled a land area of 6.5 million square kilometers. Religion, language, philosophy, architecture, and law were significantly developed in Rome by Trajan.

Claudius was the Roman emperor who dominated Britain. He ruled Rome from 10 BC to 54 BC. Constantine was the first Christian emperor of Rome who ruled Rome from 272 AD to 337 AD and he built his capital in Byzantium, renaming it Constantinople. Romulus Augustus was the last emperor of Rome who ruled from 461 AD to 476 AD. The exact date of the end of Romulus Augustus’s dynasty was unknown.
