I bought this costume for my 6 year old daughter and she loved it. I ordered a Medium and it fit well, just had to be hemmed. The sleeves were the perfect length so the red material at her wrists hung just right. In order to get the collar to stand up, I laced it from the top down. Also, make sure it is laced on the outside of the holes (as shown in the picture). The collar does look just as good laying flat. I was able to put a long sleeve shirt and tights under it and you could not tell. The material was of good quality and very comfortable.

Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I am having difficulty getting the material around the neck to stand up. It is just a piece of foam-like material that ties, but flops down easily. Minor issue for me because my daughter fell in love with the costume but could be a disappointment to other children/parents. Hope to figure out a solution of how to get the collar to stay up by Halloween if my daughter decides it is an issue.

I ordered the small (4-6) size for my daughter who just turned 7 and it fit perfect. So if you are ordering this for a 4-5 year old I am positive it would be dragging on the ground. Now a year later (8 years old), I had her try it on so I can see what size to order her this year for a costume and it fits about 1" above her ankle. Hope this helps! The costume is cute as can be!

I purchased this costume for my six year old. She wore it for a party at school and trick or treating. She loved it and we thought it was pretty cool. Unlike many costumes, which are often very skimpy when it comes to size, this costume was very true to size. We ordered a size larger than she usually wears and she was able to wear a sweatshirt and light jacket underneath for trick or treating. Because of the drawstring in the front, it did not look too large with just her regular clothes underneath for the indoor party. Our only complaints are that the material is quite thin, which is typical of Halloween costumes, and that the collar did not stand up, but still looked nice laid flat on her shoulders.
