The Victorian Period lasted from the beginning of Queen Victoria’s reign in 1837 all the way until 1901. It was considered to be one of Britain’s most prosperous periods. The lives of British citizens improved at both home and work. The population doubled despite the fact that many citizens were settling in the US, Canada, or Australia.
