The Best Closet Cosplays

The beauty of cosplaying is that cosplayers come in all shapes and sizes. There are some characters that require some serious manhours to complete while others can come together by going through your closet for components. It doesn’t matter how you get to the final look, only that you do. You don’t have to jump straight to sewing machines and heat guns to start cosplaying. Get your toes wet by finding the components around your house or at a thrift store.

We scoured Instagram looking for some awesome #closetcosplays and boy did you all not disappoint. Here’s a look at some of our favorites side-by-side with the character they were cosplaying as. We hope this post helps inspire you to head to your closet to create your own cosplay. Or, if you’re looking for an easy look, browse our inventory of new costumes to wear to your next convention!

If you’re on a quest to catch ’em all, there’s no better character to dress up as than Ash Ketchum. As long as you have the main components, you can create a cosplay in any style as Jeremy did with his pop-punk Ash.

Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants

Can you feel the 90s nostalgia? Max went to great lengths to impress Roxanne but little did he know she already liked him for his laugh.
