It’s hard to believe that the kids are back at school and we are starting to wake up every morning to the chill of autumn. This can only mean one thing – It’s time to start thinking about what to be for Halloween!

As part of an ongoing series of blogs for this Halloween Season, we will feature the most popular costumes of the year in order to help you and your kids make informed costume shopping decisions. To kick off this year’s Halloween costume shopping guide, here are the current Top 10 Boy’s Halloween Costume of 2012:

There are certain boy’s Halloween costumes that continue to make to top ten year after year such as Batman, Spider-Man, Power Rangers and boy’s Star Wars costumes. New additions that year that rank in the upper five include Avengers costumes and Angry Birds costumes. Avengers costumes include Thor costumes, Captain America costumes and the popular favorite, Iron Man. Thor has seen an increase in sales that is off the charts because it has not been previously offered.

The boy’s Angry Birds costumes made their debut last Halloween and due to popular demand, Disguise Costumes has expanded their offering to include the Ice Bomb, Laser Bird and Blue Bird in addition to the extremely popular boy’s Red Angry Bird costume, Black Bird, Yellow Bird and of course, the King Pig Halloween costume.

The National Retail Federation has not yet released its Halloween spending forecast for 2012 but based on 2011 Halloween shopping statistics, this is going to be a very good year for Halloween costumes. The fact that the selections this year are even better than ever before is very exciting news for our customers.
